What I Do

Graphic Design

I've been using the Adobe Creative Suite for as long as I can remember. Designing is something that has always come naturally to me.

Web Design

I love creating solutions for the web. Nothing means more to me than seeing one of my design creations come to life on the internet.

Photography

Photography started out as a hobby but soon turned into a tool I use to design. I use photography skills to personalize my design work.

My Name Is
Lauren Fox

I am a twenty three year old designer from NY. I have graduated with a Bachelors degree in Graphic & Multimedia Design, from Dowling College.

I knew Graphic Design was something I wanted to do from a very young age. I spent most of my spare time constantly challenging myself and teaching myself the fundimentals of design. Successfully combining form, interation, and function into one project is very important to me. I am always looking for new challenges and ways to improve my skills.

I've got
The skills

I use a combination of these skills to create user experiences that are not only beautiful, but functional.

A successful website is not just pretty, it also has to function well. User experience is key, if your website is hard to navigate it doesn't matter what it looks like. Each project is special and I make sure that every user interface I create is easy to use and works well.

Tools used to create this site: Adobe Photoshop, Wordpress, Gravity Forms, Revolution Slider

My cousin recently opened up her own photography business and was in need of a website to help promote herself. The website had to be simple, clean, informational and it had to display her work in a professional way. The website is still a work in progress but is still avaliable to view.

Poloroid Clock

Graphic Design

Tools to create this project: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, My DSLR

This is one of my personal projects that I've created during my time at Dowling College. Our challenge was to create a clock that meant something to us and we also had to make it function as a real product. I built this functioning clock out of foam core and functioning time pieces. To this day, I still own this clock and it still functions like the first day I created it.

Deep Blue

Graphic Design

Tools used to create this project: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign

For one of my graphic design classes at Dowling College, we had to come up with a fictitious company, and brand them. I created the company called Deep Blue, which was in theory, a start-up aquarium. I kept the business card and logo simple, neat, but also fun and family oriented.

JGSLI Website

Web Designs

Tools used to create this project: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Wordpress

We all start at humble beginnings. This website was my very first website I've ever created for a client. I built it on wordpress using the Twenty Twelve theme. This was my very first time ever experiencing wordpress and for going in blind I believe I did a pretty good job. I took the Twenty Twelve theme and used it as a stepping stool to customize the site to what the folks at JGSLI needed.

Even though this site is not up to my standards of design now I like to reference it to show how much I've grown in the past few years of being a Web Designer. While JGSLI.org is still mobile responsive, the design skills are dated.
